A $17.5 million settlement has been proposed in a lawsuit against Hoffmann-La Roche Inc. (“Roche”), the Township of Nutley (“Nutley”), the City of Clifton (“Clifton”) and Deluxe Corporation (“Deluxe”) (collectively, the “Defendants”). The lawsuit alleges that Defendants caused groundwater contamination that has migrated offsite from the 118-acre former industrial headquarters of Roche, located at 340 Kingsland Street in Nutley, NJ (the “Roche Site”). This groundwater contamination extends under homes near the Roche Site (the “Contamination”).
